HE wasn’t giving too much away during the summer but now Peter Jensen has spilled the sartorial beans – who his muse is for his spring/summer 2011: Shelley Duvall.

The designer, known for his witty creations and penchant for an interesting muse, will unveil exactly how Duvall has inspired his collection this weekend at New York Fashion Week – but in the meantime we can give you a few fashionable hints. Think the Seventies and a sense of awkward chic via boot-cut cords, bee prints, fringed suede jackets, colour-blocked dresses, ruffled skirts and flared knitwear. And for the evening, think along the lines of a backless halter-neck dress, crepe palazzo pants and a cape-like chiffon dress.

“I’m really pleased and happy that MAC has asked us back to Milk this season. I really did enjoy being in New York last season and I hope it will be great being there this time,” Jensen tells us.

Peter Jensen will show his spring/summer 2011 show on Sunday evening.
