MANOLO BLAHNIK, Daphne Guinness and Giles Deacon will tonight decide who will win the Dorchester Fashion Prize. The panel, which also features Yasmin Le Bon and Stephen Jones, will award one lucky budding designer with £25,000 torwards their next collection, as well as accommodation and an event at the Dorchester Collection hotel of their choice.

“The calibre of the 69 designers who originally applied for the prize, upon its February 2010 launch, was impressive,” says Bronwyn Cosgrave, chairperson of the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize. “In July 2010, our distinguished judging panel selected the shortlist and, no matter what tonight’s outcome, they unanimously agree, that the five designers vying for the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize are among the most gifted fashion designers working in Great Britain.”

The five shortlisted designers, which include Mary Katrantzou, Thomas Tait, Hermione de Paula, Louise Goldin, and Chau Har Lee, will present their favourite looks in an exclusive catwalk presentation. The winner must demonstrate unique design flair and future potential in terms of both conceptual and commercial success.
