DESIGNER Osman Yousefzada’s travels have inspired many of his collections but now, in association with his show sponsor Kuoni, they have also inspired a limited edition collection in aid of charities worldwide.

“We came up with this idea of working with local artisans from around the world,” Osman explained. “It’s about celebrating their talents. I designed the pieces and then we found the most amazing local producers to hand weave and hand dye these amazing pieces. We’ll only make around 100 of each.”

The first piece is a cashmere-silk scarf which was hand-loomed and screen-printed in India. Designed to complement Osman’s autumn/winter 2010 collection, the scarves come in two colourways, fuchsia and charcoal, and will retail for £149. All the profits from each piece sold will benefit a charity in the country it was produced, with proceeds from the scarf going to the Children’s Rights in Goa charity.

“The next piece will be a beautiful hand-dyed beach shirt that we are making in Bali,” Osman revealed.
